3. Kucinich reveals THE REASON we are making war against Iraq
It's unfortunate that Dennis isn't "hot," which would give him a much larger audience, because this man speaks truth to power.

Yesterday he revealed that the so called "Hydrocarbon Law" which is before the Iraqi parliament is nothing more than an Iraq oil giveaway program for the benefit of the major oil corporations. Hiding it under the title "Hydrocarbon" won't make it less evil; the fact is this is THE reason we are mired down in Iraq today, and why over three thousand of our wonderful soldiers have died. And if you think we will be leaving Iraq anytime soon, you are sadly mistaken.

Last Friday on the PBS Newshour (which has been dropping the ball a lot lately), it was revealed that it will cost the major oil companies somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 Billion Dollars to set-up the necessary infrastructure to get the Iraq oil flowing on a regular basis. In return for that expense, they expect a signed agreement (Hydrocarbon Law) with a Iraq government (which we put in place), as well as a stable countryside (U.S. troops guarding oil fields). This will allow major oil seventy percent of the revenue from Iraqi oil fields for the next thirty years, or as long as the oil holds out.

We are building at least fourteen permanent bases in Iraq ("enduring" in our governments phrase) along with the largest embassy compound in the entire world. Does this sound like a troop pullout anytime soon? Don't believe the prognonsticators who are predicting an end to the war before the 2008 elections: There will be no end to this war until Bush is gone.

Dennis points out in this sound bite that the major points of this scenario were agreed upon before the invasion of Iraq. Look up "Chaney Energy Task Force" meetings.

11. Never heard DK talk in person, he is hot.
Americans just don't appreciate wisdom, courage, and conviction. Guess they can't handle such character traits. Every heard DK get wound up on the campaign trail he has a blend of Adlai Stevenson and Robert Kennedy. That is hot. Guess, Americans expect more a blend of Robert Redford and Alfred E Newman.

31. we have that video.
He totally rocks. His biggest electoral problem. The media is offended by his media reform plans. They will never allow his a serious chance. They distort his ideas and give him insufficient coverage. We need the electoral reform he advocates to restore our democracy. That's why he has an uphill fight. I have heard DK talk live four times. He rocks. The listeners were standing on their chairs with their applause to actually hear someone with real depth and conviction. As Studs Terkel says, DK has not a chance, it's not DK's problem; it's Americas.'

Among a half dozen others. But this is the one I always come back to for motivation, to be energized.

The man is the perfect combination of knowledge with pure energy and passion. I have no idea when he sleeps. He's always on top of things, can quote facts and figures at a moment's notice. He's the only one I really trust to know what's going on and he's proven that trust is well founded, time and time again. He takes his service to the country very seriously because that's how he views it...service. Unlike some of the other placemarkers in congress on both sides of the aisle.

36. I have seen him dead tired at a meeting of supporters.
He still did a bang up job , his speeches is more like a backgroud briefing on whatever topic he is talking about.someone who does not relate to his style is not impressed with competency. He really pushes himself and stays informed . No one will ever accuse him of not knowing whatever it is he is voting on. He was one of the few to actually read the Patriot Act I before he voted for it.

37. Absolutely!
He is a total dynamo! He can quote you whatever figures you want to ask him about, especially the spending and waste at the Pentagon. But he is also so very passionate at times. There have been a shameful few like him.

12. He was amazing on Democracy Now! this morning: here's a link
http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=07/05/24/143225

At first he says stuff similar to the video in the OP about Iraq, but then goes on to other issues including a notably different position on immigration from anything I've heard elsewhere. Not just different, but better. Wondering what we should do about the immigration issue? Check this out.

You can listen or watch from the above link.

21. That was a great interview!
Thanks for providing the link.

DK's take on immigration isn't new; he's been consistently opposed to NAFTA/CAFTA/WTO all along.

One of the things I respect about him is that he is willing to discuss the source of a problem, from a citizen's point of view, from a worker's point of view. He's right. Give anyone the opportunity to earn a living safely and humanely locally, and why would they need to leave?

Put the blame squarely where it belongs; on big money manipulating the supply of cheap labor.

Read my sig line and weep. And this "Privatizing" the oil is theft plain and simple. I have never known much about Kicinich, but in about the last 24 hours I have grown a great deal of respect for him. I'm thinking Gore/Kucinich as of today. I'm impressed.

18. We need to start supporting...
this man. It is obvious that putting a middle of the road democrat like Hillary and Obama in office will not accomplish much, as a majority of them just caved in with the war spending bill. It is time we start putting our money where our mouth is and supporting the people who believe what we believe instead of voting for the canidate who kind of believes what we do but has a chance to win. Just because the right wing media says he has no chance to win doesnt mean we should believe it, that is exactly why we should support him, to get away from the strangle hold the right seems to have on our country. It is time to put up or shut up, quit complaining about things and voting for peple who won't change things. Support someone who actually stands up for the people. If you dont want to do that then quit complaining about how we need change, maybe the change we need lies with you.

19. This is why this man has my full support.
His effort to shine the light of day on the bi-partisan dark side of U.S. government is the most valuable work done by a politician in Congress in my lifetime. There can be no moving civil liberties, equal opportunities, equal rights, social and economic justice forward with a corrupt government in power. I hope enough Democratic voters appreciate his work and strongly, publicly support him to make sure his voice is heard.

I wish this man was President. Or at least Speaker of the House.

Dennis is a Liberal

Ron Paul is a Conservative.

27. Agree also
I think when * landed on the carrier and declared "end of fighting" he was actually declaring the "beginning" of the disruption of oil delivery from Iraq and the plan to privitize the country's asset of oil into the hands of the corporate oil companies. Therefore the fighting must continue as long as there is a need to disrupt the oil flow and maximize oil profits - forever!

29. The more I see and hear from Kucinich, the more I like him.
A politician for the PEOPLE, not a politician out for his own career. He's the kind of representative they are ALL supposed to be - advocating for the people, the constituents - not for donors, lobbyists, party leaders or their own personal agenda.

I am holding out for Gore and would love to see a Gore/Feingold ticket, but more and more I think a Gore/Kucinich ticket would be splendid also! And I have to say, that if Gore doesn't throw his hat in the ring, I'm leaning very strongly towards caucusing for Kucinich.

I SO wish that he could get more mainstream exposure and less derision and marginalization, not only from the media and the right, but also from his own party! The people of this country need to hear his message!

GO DENNIS! :applause:
