1. We are being amused to death |

We are being taught we want something we never knew we wanted.
We are being massaged and sold into servitude.

Don't add me to we.
There's a damn good reason that I don't even own a tv set. The folks I would like to watch, I can't get.......Stewart, KO, Maher..........and there's nothing else on the tube I really want to watch.
I know what's going on there, and what's going on here, and what's going on in South America and Europe and the Middle East and Africa.
I write letters, I protest...but I'm a minority, and it's easy to ignore folks like me.
What I don't understand is that Americans, in spite of their constant protestations are much more liberal than their government. They still believe the propaganda. It leaves me with my mouth hanging open sometime.

10. Could it be that the cake is just too tasty? |
|
I mean, the voting base does not really seem to be directly impacted by all of this. Sure they care. Sure they notice. But the base has jobs, kids, groceries in the pantry, sure they pay a little more for the gas and groceries, but they can still afford them...
Just my 2 cents, oh wait...$3.00...

8. Based on the flow of the video, I first thought it was a joke.. |
|
then I thought it was a mistake, then I thought why shouldn't ignorant people think granted is granite?
Why is it like this? Pushing things under the carpet and procrastinating is easier than trying to convince the blockheads in power to actually do what is right. They (we?) place faith in our elected officials because they give us the sound bites we want to hear. I hope that the rest of America has gotten with the program and realize the shit has indeed hit the fan.
Nice vid.

9. Because most people are not directly impacted. |
|
When I say most people, I mean those that can do something about it. The independant progressive democrat or republican base. Not the far left or far right, the middle, the BASE.
The voting base. Not directly impacted.
Just an example: There was a neighborhood park being upgraded in our local community. Nobody cared, they were adding six additional parking spaces and two of them were handicapped. Nobody cared, Except the people living right on the parks borders. Do you think the few people who were affected made a difference? Nope. Why? Becuase they were a small minority not a majority, they could not get other people to agree to show up at the meetings because they were NOT DIRECTLY IMPACTED.
Just my 2 cents...

12. Why do people pick apart and criticize |
|
instead of talking to the point? This place can be so vicious. The question is a valid one. Thank you for posting and trying to make a difference. I think that the majority of Americans are self centered and do not feel personally responsible for the people that our government kill, rape, and steal from. It is a sadness. Happy pills, biggie sizes and the neoconservative movement add to the problem. Thank you for trying to find the answer. Peace, Kim

Why do you think I don't come here much anymore.
It could also be said we're more interested in flaming one another on forums than we are in actually doing anything to solve problems.
