It is the party's debates even if the biased media own the cameras. Stop making the moderator THE chief debater and judge and editor and everything offensive stupid and distracting that ones never wants anywhere. none of these moderator schmucks- whether one likes their performance for some godforsaken reason should be allowed near any high school debate.
Picking a moderator. Fix the rules and the allotments of questions(short relevant, no interruptions). These are NOT supposed to be interviews with stellar pundits. Democrats might as well get Dem moderators The GOP get theirs and though the Dems challenge the Dems they wouldn't necessarily curse their own candidates with stupidity and softballs. Dems are even up to harder questions such as with distinguished journalists or minds outside the party who would be light years- again- ahead of the slop provided by major network celebrities. A panel from The Daily Show would be more positive than anything the major news networks could possibly dredge up- and more watched in all likelihood.
Sop you humbled yourself to get to the major networks and some glint of the Nielsens- but nothing so much as the clips shown by the editing bias of the networks to their far larger news listener audience after. So you played is safe with some of the rules and strangled any potential for chance or excitement, confrontation or substance.
What did we do to end up with Wolf Blitzowits? That should have ben the first question discussed- maybe before the debate. Maybe one should have asked what the people want since most people most likely want a real Democrat in a real debate.
