Wilson comments on how unethical it would be for Libby to be pardoned. Great segment. He also comments on the civil suit.

"I think that it reinforces the fact that the civil case is a means of getting the full truth out. Cheney, Libby, Rove, Armitage, none of them testified in the Libby criminal trial. We want their statements on the record. We want Americans to know precisely what went on, and the mechanism that's available to us under our system of jurisprudence is the civil suit so we intend to continue to pursue that," says Wilson.

3. thank you. I just made another donation.
I am proud that my letter to Judge Walton stands in opposition to Libby and requests immediate jail time since a pardon is likely. I wish more folks would have flooded the good judge with their opinion of Libby's actions.

I wish the press would cover some of the letter in opposition instead of those who praise his actions, but what do you expect from MSM.

PS I threw in a little tidbit about the stolen election: ;)

Dear JUdge Walton,

I am a former small business owner who closed my business of 17 years after witnessing
the assault on democracy at the hands of the GOP in disenfranchising thousands of low
income African American voters in Ohio in 2004. Since I am a mother, I felt it was my duty
to pay attention to what was occurring in our country and work for change, so I closed my
business. I closely followed the I Lewis Libby trial and am outraged at the members of the
Bush Administration who blatantly used political revenge on a dedicated covert agent Ms.
Valerie Plame Wilson (as her testimony under oath to congress proved). I realize the trial
was not about outing Ms Wilson, but perhaps if members of the Bush Administration, such
as Mr Libby, did not attempt to obstruct justice, real justice could be served. Regardless,
Mr Libby was convicted of lying and obstructing justice. I urge you to make an example of
him to send a message to others that this behavior will not be tolerated. Since Mr Libby
will likely be pardoned by President Bush, I urge you to not allow him to remain free while
on appeal, but instead to immediately send him to prison, where he belongs.
Thank you for your consideration.

I hope it helped sway the good judge.

7. This is fantastic, and perhaps deserves a separate post? I
would like to see if H2OMan or others have the pdf file link to letters of opposition. They would be just as interesting to read as those who supported, some of whom have proven themselves to be Republicans in disguise, like the long-suspected (on my part) Carville. But being in bed, literally and figuratively with Mary Matalin, who was deeply involved in the Plame/Wilson shenanigans IMHO, who is surprised that he co-signed a letter begging for leniency?

10. Here's the link to WaPo that has the letters alphabetically:

I don't know if it's my computer but I found scrolling the letters to be agonizingly slow.

6. Would have loved it...
if Joe Wilson had responded to the question of when, or if, the truth about the lies and deceit associated with our involvement in this damn war would ever come out...he had said, 'Only after the hush money runs out, the reality of stiff jail sentences loosens a few tongues and/or they start cashing in on what they know by writing books.'

12. While Scooter is running around DC, Wilson is in Baghdad
anyone else get the sense that Joe's work was far more courageous-and helpful-to the US cause in Gulf War I?

14. Wilson gets tagged with the "dirty hippie" label and we love him and all, but...

his story is best understood as yet another faithful government employee screwed by the Bush Crime Family.

For god's sake, Joe Wilson served his country and his President heroically in the run-up to Gulf War I. A decent man would recognize that a man who'd been a loyal public servant to HIS FATHER, you'd think, might be worthy of slack-cutting. A decent man would tell his VP to piss off as he fumed over the NY Times op-ed piece, and take the criticism.

But not this POS. Oh no.
