Summary: Cenk has a very interesting conversation with Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY) about healthcare. for a link to quotes, Huffington Post comments and the transcript. Finally, it'll be interesting to see how many "unrecommend" ratings TYT postings get from people who hate Cenk, regardless of the content of a given TYT video/article.

1. K&R I agree with Rep. John Yarmuth on taking single payer off the table.
I think it was a huge mistake.

Great conversation.

6. I'm amused that 4 people voted to oppose Dems standing firm on a public option.

3. We are the change we voted for !
As a former health care giver, I am shocked to see what is called quality health care now in Tennessee and Virginia. http://www.wisecountyissues.com/?p=62 Clearly profit care is more important than patient care. Call your representatives and demand public option.

5. YES. People think we will get a public option without any effort on their part.

COUNT ON IT. IF YOU DO NOT CALL AND EMAIL YOUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES AND DEMAND A PUBLIC OPTION THE LOBBYISTS (BOTH THOSE WHO ARE FORMALLY IDENTIFIED AS LOBBYISTS AND THOSE WHO ARE REPUBLICAN SENATORS AND REPS) WILL WIN THIS WAR (Yes, this is a war. Billions of dollars in profits are at stake. And the health care industry isn't about to let those billions go without a fight).

We will NOT get a public option if people do not get in this battle. Don't expect others to do it for you, if you can't even call or email them to tell them to fight for it. AND NO DAMN COMPROMISES. THE COMPROMISE IS SOMETHING THE LOBBYISTS DEVISE TO SABOTAGE A PROGRAM BY WRITING IT SO IT LOOKS LIKE WHAT THE PUBLIC WANTS BUT IS JUST A SIMULATION, A FAKE. IT WILL NOT DO WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT IT TO DO ( an example of this is these "co-ops" they are talking about. You need the group to be large enough to obtain the power of a large buyer of services to achieve savings. Co-ops would NEVER be big enough to achieve the savings the PUBLIC OPTION WOULD. But you also have to watch that they don't agree to a "Public Option" and then make sure it is written so it won't achieve what it is designed to do. They will sneek language into the law so it cannot be effective.

REmember, people, it really is up EACH ONE OF US to see that the public option become a reality.. It's THE PEOPLE against the industry lobbyists (Rupublicans and formally identified industry lobbyists).

THis battle is not over yet and it is far from won.

You can email your Senators and Representatives here: www.congress.org

Great interview. Single payer, universal coverage, is both doable and cost effective.

It is the moral choice as well. Letting people die early to save a buck is hardly a 'plan' even worthy of discussion. Yet that's what we have. It is what republicans advocate as well, as well as some Democrats apparently.

Nor am I being dramatic. Go to youtube and take a look at the videos of people being dumped off in the street, in hospital gowns, at homeless shelters if you think I am. Many of them were left to die in the street over the course of days!

It never ceases to amaze me when people talk about choice and waiting times in more socialized systems. Neither will be a problem if you do not have proper health coverage, because you won't be seeing the doctor. Or getting that chemo, etc.

What is the choice there?

12. OOOPS! I accidentally hit "un-recommend"!!!!
MODERATORS- can someone please remove an "unrec" vote? I was not prompted with a dialog box asking "are you sure..."- if i were- i would have canceled my vote.

This un-rec thing kinda sucks.
