I wonder what battle they're training for? Sounds more militant than spiritual.

If it weren't for the Christian influence, this seems like a good thing. Instead it looks like it divides people up on religious differences, it gives young people a great experience in overcoming personal and interpersonal limitations and then associates that with Christianity. I think that's deceptive at best.
