10. Yep. I could hear them too - just barely though. |
|
Fuck em. There were few enough for them to be embarrassed, and to have gotten some pretty serious and ugly looks from the giant majority that were cheering.

20. Remember when we would politely remain silent with GWB? |
|
The president is the president, no matter what you think of him.
GWB barely got any boos himself.
I saw the motorcade pass twice with Bush inside and just looked at it pass in polite silence.
I could have used my 1st amendment right to flip him, but did not, out of respect for the presidency.

It they hadn't shown a close up replay of his reaction to the throw, I would have never known it made it over home base.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3WvbtlUZbQI found a video at MLB.com with the fox view, and the camera man INTENTIONALLY yanks the camera back towards the president so you can't see the catch!!!! I shit ya not! http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090714&content_id=5874014&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb

27. I think they took that angle to prevent any embarrassment. |
|
I mean, that would be the reason. Suppose his pitch misses the backstop, or rolls to home plate? I don't think that happened, but I think they were preventing spectacle.

Threw out the first pitch in a game. When Chimpy McChucklenuts threw out the pitch, there was a deafening cacophony of boos! All I heard were cheers. I think WE THE PEOPLE like him still!

12. Having to throw out the first pitch |
|
Edited on Tue Jul-14-09 08:42 PM by Libertas1776
from the mound as a requirement to be Prez. Well, that disqualifies me (that, and a number of other reasons:beer: :spank: :tinfoilhat: heh, heh ) I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. At least in the old days the Prez just threw from above the dugout. I mean, hey, FDR threw out the 1st pitches at 11 games during his presidency and obviously he didn't go up to the mound. Anyway, nice one Mr. President, I will concede that at least.

29. The boos should have been louder - but the 'Obama homeless' could not afford tix |
|
...based on Obama's effective giveaway of billions to Goldman and other banks; an unquestioned, blatant transfer of wealth from millions of Americans who are now jobless, homeless or both to GS he deserves to be booed at length. BO is a gutless wonder who sounds great, but has betrayed his office. I am going to play this clip on my show today ON THE EDGE with accompanying comments - and I'll post to DU on Friday as usual. Hey, I gave BO the benefit of the doubt - now I feel used. He personally cost me tens of thousands of dollars in interest income due to his shameless kowtowing to the Monarchs on Wall St. Shame. Shame. Shame.

Why is this all anyone is saying on the usual progressive talk stations tonight?
Is this really the biggest topic of conversation right now, the President throwing it three feet short of the plate for a ceremonial pitch at the All-Star Game?
