1. The estimate from the rumor mill was closer to two million
and demonstrations are being reported in other cities, as well.

All the pressure from the bottom will deepen the rift at the top.

I wish them success. 30 years of a hijacked revolution are plenty.

5. Iranians don't sit on their asses
They overthrew the Sha in 1979. Students demonstrated big-time in 1999 and are in the streets now. In Iran complacancy is not an option.

12. Don't forget the margin was whisker thin
and came down to one lousy, corrupt state.

In addition, most Americans just couldn't wrap their heads around the fact that this was a rich man's fascist coup. Those just didn't happen in America, you know.

However, it's likely to happen again.

10. Some background on Tehran Bureau
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=105929814

Morning Edition, June 29, 2009 · As the government of Iran cracks down on journalists there, one of the most reliable sources for news has also been one of the most unlikely. It's called Tehran Bureau, but it's neither a bureau nor in Tehran. It's one woman running a Web site from a Boston suburb.

From the outside, Kelly Golnoush Niknejad's little clapboard house looks just like so many other on a peaceful, leafy street in Newton, Mass.

But step inside and you're immediately transported a world away to the epicenter of the political turmoil in post-election Iran.

7. I read last night that Rasfajani released many prisoners today. We need a blogger from Iran to tell
us what we're seeing. Are they still prohibited?

9. Thanks. I'm happy that the protests haven't faded away. I can relate to
person trying to make eye contact. Black uniforms for the private 'enforcers' - that's something Iran and the U.S. have in common.
