1. I'll say it again, instead of bailing out banks directly

give it to the people to pay off their mortgages. If they don't have a mortgage give them a cash payout. The banks will get the money in the end anyway. It all funnels upwards.

3. I have heard that a mere 490 Billion would have paid off

Every residential mortgage in the USA.

I Have also heard it would take 9 Billion.

In any event, we have already given Wall Street OVER ten trillion bucks, for Wall Street to use for its own purposes. None of which seem to involve helping people via loaning out loans to help with mortgages - even though in the end it is the modest home owner and the modest business person who is going to have to pay off Bernanke and Geithenr's generosity to Wall St.

2. Who is this guy? When he was talking about the 30 yr 4% loans for

housing it made me think of how most of the greatest generation got their homes. And it worked. But most of those homes were much smaller than we have today.
