I knew a guy once who when diagnosed with a mental illness proclaimed that he had a free pass to be a total asshole. I always thought that such a proclamation was in and of itself evidence that he had sufficient self awareness that we might expect him to behave himself. Alas, as House says, two symptoms are not always of the same illness.

...that, although Beck is clearly a disturbed individual, he is also the hottest item among the Fox viewers and Conservadrones since rubber dog shit. This fact sadly reflects just how incredibly regressive and juvenile many of our fellow citizens have become. Aside from the inbred, there are some out there who actually have a brain that is physiologically in order, but they have been poisoned for years on end by the likes of Limbaugh, Savage, Hannity, Ingraham, Coulter, Malkin (cute but pathological), Dobbs, Dr. Laura, and now Beck. Decades have passed, education has been cut and demonized. We saw it clearly in the above video as Beck mocked the educated and revealed his own underlying sense of inferiority by stressing that he has no college education. (Yeah, Beck, we know. And look at yourself now.) These talking heads are not the problem. They are a symptom or a much larger pathology that has taken hold of our country. It starts with the veneration of the mediocre, and ends with the injection of jingoism and religiosity; a very deadly mix. Our media doesn't do its job. Our representatives don't do theirs, with the exception of a very few. It is really up to us. We are alone.

I hope one day soon, Beck finally puts us out of our misery....and his Glock in his mouth.
