7. WTF? I'm sitting here WITH the swine flu as I type

Okay, trust me, this is no picnic and you definitely don't want to go thru this too. So, it's a good idea for all DUers to keep track of it, stay alert, and take all normal preventative measures (frequent hand washing, etc.).

Having said that, I should pull through just fine, and the notion of swine flu being a death sentence is beyond ludicrous. So far, death has occurred in less than one in 1000 cases in the U.S., and that number is probably much lower since many cases are so mild they're never reported.

Also, the world didn't stop in 1918, there was no economic collapse, there was no martial law declared because of the Spanish Flu. Sometimes people have rocks for brains, live purely for thrills, or both.

K&R. From now on, I'll be kicking and reccing informative threads about H1N1 and unreccing anything that smacks of fear-mongering.
