Jim DeMint has a Health Care Hissy Fit on the Senate Floor |
|
http://firedoglake.com/2009/07/21/jim-demint-has-a-health-care-hissy-fit-on-the-senate-floor/Looks like someone's got a case of the grumpies after getting smacked by the President yesterday. Always amusing when Republicans tout about their innovative plans for reforming health care: tax cuts and "getting out of the way of the market." Never been tried!

|
When is somebody going to get in this guys face about using "democrat" instead of the proper "democratic" adjective? I'm sick and tired of these goons getting away with this stupid taunt.

10. 1. $5,000 per year for 45,000,000 uninsured is $225 billion annually or 2 trillion in 10 years. |
|
(Wait, isn't the President's plan only 1 trillion?)
2. I am sure he would be shocked to hear that not everyone can fully fund a Health Savings Account much less manage one. Another cost to employers that would make them cancel the health benefit.
3. He says, get out of the way and let the free market work... Isn't that how we got into this mess?
4. I didn't hear him volunteer to give up his government health plan in exchange for that great $5,000 subsidy.
Yeah! That's it! Congress can surrender their health insurance coverage to help with the deficit. They can then exercise their God-given right to shop around for replacement insurance. They are mostly millionaires so paying for it shouldn't be a problem. I hope none of them have a pre-existing condition though.

14. allow the market to work |
|
What market?????
This is our HEALTH we're talking about! Not electronic toys.
There are a few areas where there is NO FREE MARKET because one cannot say "no" and survive. These things like
Energy Transpo Food and water
have no FREE market because you MUST have them. Can you say "cartels"? Yes some are less expensive than others but the difference is not much or "real" if quality is sacrificed.
This is why all these areas must be regulated and watched carefully.

My point is that the market has NOT worked. If it had the US would not be in the current health care mess today.

Yes, the good senator is a member of the infamous "Family". Not that his arguments bear any logical relationship to that association. They are false in their own right. In fact, referring to what DeMint does on the Senate floor as an argument is to be overly generous (dispensing rapid fire BS seasoned with a pinch of irrelevant fact is not an argument). But then, the senator doesn't hold much with logic or even facts. He's on a faith mission to make America a theocracy for Jesus, Son of Capital.

Not turning it down would make a him a big, old, hypocrite. Not that republics care if they are hypocrites or not.

time after time after time?
His solutions are no solution, which is why the damn things were rejected. Does he forget that his beloved Bush was a specialist at ramming through legislation by giving no one time to actually read what they were voting on?
Oh, I'm sorry. Bush was a republic.
Man's an idiot.
