Approximately 114 million Americans are expected to leave private health insurance. Why? Their employers will drop the insurance because the taxpayer-subsidized plan will be 30 to 40 percent cheaper. This action will collapse the private health insurance market, and then the Federal Government will own the health provider game.

We could change the Tax Code, and we could allow Americans to purchase their health care the same way they purchase their car insurance--across State lines, buy in pools, bring down the price, have true competition, and allow small clinics like the MinuteClinics, for instance in Minnesota, to be set up all across the United States.....

1. she's got some interesting ideas there
too bad she didn't push them through when the republicans owned the entire government. Oh well, it's our turn now.

7. no they are idiotic ideas
This national insurance marketplace (or mark up place) is useless. It is a non-solution solution and therefore perfect if you want to get NOTHING done. Each insurance carrier has to contract with clinics or clinic networks seperately and are less likely to contract in a positive way with clinics that are on the other coast unless they are one of the big insurance groups.

Please don't prop up this crazy B!$&# from my homestate and please don't prop up a solution that isn't one.

I do agree completely with the argument stating that they already had their chance to fix healthcare.

16. Very stupid ideas the insurance companies will take over every aspect of what the idiot
Edited on Wed Jul-22-09 12:51 PM by GreenTea
republican corporate pig Bachmann proposes....She's a fucking republican her purposals are made to keep the status quo, insurance companies profits....the idiot Bachmann does NOT want to protect the "114 million" who seek to find lower cost and better service than the insurance companies offer.

Insurance companies stand between you and your doctor...One must go through ones insurance company to get ANYTHING OKed before a doctor will preform the necessary attention or procedures.

2. Bachmann lying again
We could change the Tax Code, and we could allow Americans to purchase their health care the same way they purchase their car insurance--across State lines, buy in pools, bring down the price, have true competition, and allow small clinics like the MinuteClinics, for instance in Minnesota, to be set up all across the United States.....

For the record, the current insurance system does buy in pools. The plans offered by bussinesses pool together everybody in the bussiness and, supposedly, gets us cheaper prices. Check out eHealthInsurance, a plan that looks all over the country for cheap prices. These companies are competing against each other...for the highest return on investor money.

As usual, Bachmann either doens't know what she is talking about or is lying through her teeth.

14. yeah, I went to one of those clinics when I lived in MN.....
Edited on Wed Jul-22-09 11:22 AM by ladywnch
they wham-bammed me through in about 10 minutes.......sent me home with (undiagnosed) pneumonia.....which I found out about several days later when I was on an airplane heading to a wedding. I ended up being med-evaced off the plane rushed to a hospital where I spent the next week.

Yeah, those places are what I'd rely on for my care.

6. She just admitted
capitalism cannot compete with Socialism. That's why right wingers fear socialism, they won't be able to make a profit off other people's misfortune.

10. Yeah, I feel *way* safer hoping that for-profit insurance will pay my claims...
:eyes:

You know, the GOP has made political hay for 40 years by convincing people that no matter how amoral private industry X behaves, "socialized X" will somehow be worse. I wonder if America is ready to stop falling for that bullshit story yet.

11. she and her republican party would rather see people go bankrupt or
die so that her constituents can maintain their wealth. Wealth oppresses others, which is the opposite of Freedom. Living at the whims of the wealthy class is UNAMERICAN!

After the census, and we all get hauled off to concentration camps, we won't need health care.

18. Alas, the poor insurance companies!
It is moving to see a hardline conservative find a victim who elicits their pity. I must say, though, their choices tend to be pretty odd.

19. This idiot is going to give she-man a run for her money when she gets tossed out...
...if her district ever gets enough of their heads out of their asses. She is a total loon.

I hate to even listen to her, as she makes nearly zero sense most of the time, and she is SOOOO unstatesman like, it's pathetic.
