1. What ever happened to cops actually HELPING people?

I'm not a dog owner so I can't say how I'd react to my dog dying, but it seems to me the cop could do better than "I don't care about your dog," and "You want to spend the night in jail?" Maybe he could offer to take the dog the rest of the way in his patrol car?

Seems like cops now days are more interested in getting into "pissing contests" than helping folks.

Too bad his empathy for the law didn't translate to this dog owner.

Come around some time when you're losing or have just lost someone you love so I can shout, "Wanna spend a night in jail?" and "I don't care about your _______" (fill in name of loved one here).

5. maybe the cop should have showed more empathy

he did show some patience at times, but he did get impatient and he didn't have to be as callous as he was at a couple of points.

But if someone were videotaping me doing my job, they could say the same thing about the way I behave, and if they caught me on a bad day they could say I did much worse than this cop.
