"i continue to believe that there was an overreaction in pulling professior gates out of his home, to the station. i also continue to believe, based on what i heard, that professor gates overreacted as well."

I thought that the other side was trying to pull a 'joe the plumber' situation on us. Now, it's more like the cop is a plant by the White House staff.

I understand Professor Gates being angry. Being pulled from your house after you have produced identification and had a key. I would be angry too. The police should have walked away at that point. The story that the Police Union support the police officer is not a secret to anybody. Do any remember what the code of blue silence is? Just because the officer was hired by a Black Police Commission to teach how not to racial profile means nothing to me. Teaching is theory putting it into action is an entirely different thing. Perhaps now the officer can teach how not to escalate a situation.

11. The arrest was weak, but not racially motivated. This Harvard scholar was no angel here. Sin to go |
|
around. But, I do agree this could have been resolved without arresting the guy.
