Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell recalls a story of "a friend of a friend" about the horrors of National Healthcare in Canada to argue against supporting a Federal Health Insurance program that competes with the private health insurance industry.

McConnell's pitiful third-hand account can't compare to what is ACTUALLY happening here in America. The Right-wing is then shown for where their REAL priorities lie... with the survival of the private health insurance industry... a ridiculous and completely baseless concern.

1. The worst thing about National Health is that you sometimes have to wait, is all.

For people who cannot wait, they go the "medical tourism" route, like a relative of mine did.

If you're "ambulance-dying," though, they're going to take you. And treat you. And not send you a bill.

That's not the case in the USA.

Fedex and UPS haven't collapsed due to the strain of competition.

Lewis Black had a great take on McConnell's "I have a friend of a friend". He might as well have said "a friend of a friend told me about a friend who read a news story..." Nothing like a good personal story.
