I would have figured Ann to be a birther. And I have said what Huckabee said. If Obama wasn't legal Hillary would have finished him off before Iowa.

"Everyone knows, I think, CNN's Lou Dobbs is a dope."
It was good finding myself agreeing with Geraldo again.
He used to be so upstanding before he sold his soul and went to work for FOX.
I haven't recognized him for years because of the fact he's sounded like a Republican most of the time.

|
Edited on Sun Jul-26-09 09:33 AM by Liberal_Stalwart71
to be non-partisan, Independent and/or Libertarian because they're too embarassed to call themselves Republican. These people are even worse than mainstream Repukes. They call in to liberal talk shows all the time claiming to be "independent thinkers," as they go off ONLY on Democrats and spew ridiculous conspiracy theories. Randi is so great at breaking them down that she leaves them speechless. Nutbags! :puke::puke:

Mikey's from Arkansas. He's well acquainted with the Clinton machine, and knows damn well if there were anything to this birth certificate horseshit, Hillary would have had it. Hell, I'll go one better and say they would have had it the day after Obama's speech at the 2004 DNC convention, or the day after he announced his candidacy in Springfield at the very latest.

the birthers and arguing with them. So all 500,000 hits weren't birthers. But I'm also taking into account that probably only a fraction of birthers went to that site.

Exceptionally pasty looking, even more so than usual.
She needs a better make-up person.
But, I digress.
I'd be pasty looking if I lived on white wine and cigarettes, too.
And had to hide from the light of the sun.
And sleep in the earth of my native land.

She can't sell a book on this topic, and it's too far out there for her. I am sure she will come up with her own idiocy on some other topic very shortly. Like Palen, she loves the spotlight which is unfortunate for us.

20. Ann never misses a chance to slam the librul media |
|
She says these birthers wouldn't be out there if the media wasn't so awful about getting things right and that there are way more liberal nutters than conservative ones. Just because she sees the writing on the wall in this instance and chooses not to fall in line with the birthers doesn't mean she's being reasonable. If she thought the birthers were going anywhere with this, and if they weren't seen as wackadoos, she'd be leading the charge demanding Obama's "real" birth certificate...

22. She's not crazy, or an idiot, she's an opportunist |
|
an EVIL opportunist, but that's all. She knows that this is a bit too crazy to appeal to the maximum number of her readers. She'd retain some of them, sure, but there are a surprising number of intelligent conservatives who view her as the right wing Michael Moore. Something this crazy might hurt that image.

28. I would never view anything she says as being an expression of her true personal feelings. |
|
She and her ilk exist purely to promote whatever information the GOP wishes. They are like the WWF characters of punditry with their choreographed bluster. Her feeble criticism of the birthers (feeble in the sense she still managed to place blame for their existence on the left) just shows the GOP feels it necessary to try to distance itself from this particular subset of its base, the distilled essence of wingnut whackjobs.
The public image of the GOP was not only deeply tarnished by the Chimperor's epic fail of a presidency, but has further devolved into a disturbing mosaic that includes the crazy-hair lady & the stuffed-monkey dude at the McCain rallies, backwards-B girl, Rush Limbaugh who is starting to resemble an over-the-top CGI villain in Ironman VIII, and the birthers. Pretty much the kind of embarrassingly wacky mayhem that can be expected to ensue when a political party actively courts the hateful, the ignorant, the racists, the all-around dumbfuck sector of society, in order to form their rabid but rickety voter base.

36. From Fox's point of view, birtherism is probably a bad story. |
|
It divides the real wingnuts from other conservatives and causes strife in GOP ranks, besides offending independents, so it's bad news to Fox, which has a stake in conservative unity. It's been striking how Fox has stayed away from birtherism most recently, but here they've stepped in it a bit. Maybe, though, this is their pro forma mention of it, and they'll let it drop, and the fracas die down. But if they do a segment debunking / rejecting birtherism on one of their hard news broadcasts, especially if it's Shepard Smith, oh holy shit. Nuclear goddamn war.

Coulter may be shedding her old skin to make room for the new. But a snake is a snake is a snake. She'll reclaim her status as slitherqueen as soon as she conjures up the plot by which the Democrats invented the whole birther thing in an effort to make Republicans look stupid.
