10. You would think that Republicans wouldn't use an elephant |
|
to represent something they're trying to portray as objectionable, wouldn't you? It seems like their talking points are becoming dumber and dumber lately.

4. I've always thought of insurance companies as mice. |

Or more accurately, rats. Do the Republicans actually pay someone to come up with these talking points?
I think I liked the WAIT argument better. But it's BS either way.

7. It's not a metaphor, it's a simile. A stupid simile, but a simile nonetheless. |

12. A simile is a kind of metaphor |

I'm actually the creator of the video in question. As an English teacher myself, I'm actually sensitive to this issue. So sensitive in fact, that I went through the maddening process of joining this forum, just to answer you...lol.
We learn in school that similes and metaphors are distinct, but really a simile is a type of metaphor. So you are correct that it is a simile, but it is still technically a metaphor too.
I was waiting for someone to mention it=)
To find out, Google - "simile a type of metaphor"
All this is beside the point that Republicans are acting like dolts right now and hurting the country.

8. Becuase as we all know |
|
The purpose of health care is to make lots of money for a few private citizens, not to actually help people get and stay healthy.
Anything that interferes with profits MUST BE STOPPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:sarcasm: (not that I think it isn't pretty obvious)
