Note---Before you read the summary, there is great news for TYT Fans:

Summary: Cenk plays and breaks down a clip of David Horowitz on the Glenn Beck Program discussing the situation with Harvard professor Henry Gates. Cenk isn't surprised by Horowtiz making his 'race card' comments (a phrase used to marginalize real racism as Cenk points), but he IS incredulous over Horowtiz making the absurd and insane comment that (paraphrase) 'blacks slit throats and get away with it'.

with the race bait-and-switch. Even Beck was a bit taken aback and asked for the input of two black cameramen: one made the point that Horowitz was really reaching to reference the Simpson Trial, and both talked about very real experiences of racial profiling. Then Beck spoke about some personal observations re. racist cops, how during his time in Kentucky some whites cops were found to be keeping their Klan robes in their squad cars! Horowitz pooh-poohed that with a Yeah, that was bad, but that sort of thing is in the past implication, a familiar gambit alongside It's not racism and It's just an isolated case. When Beck comes off as relatively reasonable... well, it's as odd as Beck coming off as relatively reasonable

11. K&R
Beck coming off as reasonable is indeed odd. I suppose, in context, he did. Even a stopped clock is right once and awhile.

5. Makes no sense either.
I've had conversations with black women especially and most of them surprisingly say OJ was guilty.

Some black dudes give the same opinion. Did OJ Get away with it. Not really. He's paying out his ass and 2. isn't he in jail right now?

7. OJ didn't get away with it because he's black;
he got away with it because he's rich and a famous "sports hero".

9. Yeah... a world famous athlete and Hollywood actor...
...who plays golf and is married to a white woman is, of course, a perfect example of the average black man in America.

10. I'm sure Glenn Beck was angry
with his guest. After all, it's Beck's show and it's his job to say all the crazy shit. The guest is just there to tell him he's right.

12. Then why are blacks incarcerated at a much higher rate than whites?
Edited on Wed Jul-29-09 12:38 AM by Cali_Democrat
Apparently they can even get away with slitting throats.

What gives? :shrug:
