6. Do you mean a benign tumor? |
|
Non-trivial. Anything in your brain that needs to be removed is a big problem. Besides you don't know what it is until it is removed.

8. Son with noncancerous brain tumor... |
|
My son is in his 6th week of recovery from the removal of a benign (non-cancerous) brain tumor that was 5 cm in length. He had a trach for a month and it was just removed ten days ago, he has a lumar drain in his spine, has the possible (and very probable)need for new surgery for shunt to remove fluid leaking from his brain, his has a feeding tube, the right side of his face is paralized, he permanently lost the hearing in his right ear, one vocal chord is paralized, he cannot swallow, has lost 30 pounds, and is able to speak only minimally at this time. He walks with the help of a walker, has OT, PT, and Speech therapy daily. He has developed meningitis and is on antibiotics to try to clear that up. Thank god he has health insurance as his bills are already in excess of $500,000 (just the ones we already know about). He is still in the hospital and faces weeks of rehab and outpatient care once he's able to come home. My point? No brain surgery is minor or trivial no matter whether it's for cancer, a cyst, or a benign tumor. This 35 year old healthier than god young man almost died from a non-cancerous tumor. Would he have been treated had he not had insurance? I don't even want to think about it. How would he have paid for it himself? God only knows and he's not telling me. I do kinow that I believe everyone should have access to health care...not just the wealthy,or the employed, or the deserving...everyone.
Our hopes are that our son recovers completely and that all Americans who need it can have the care/treatments he has had and will continue to have. This is America, people. We can do better than what we've been doing to help those who need it.

so i am not belittling anyone suffering from one. wasn't trying to tread on toes. just curious if this was the woman being shown off by the right to support their objection to universal health care.
good luck to your son . . . and good luck to president obama's health care reform without which others suffering like your son may not live.

I hope the Democrats can pull something out of their bag of tricks because they will be in the crosshairs of the GOP attack machine all through the break if they don't do it now.

Hmm.. I am kind of torn on this one. On the one hand, I am happy that she had treatment, on the other hand, she is pretty hot.

You might want to save some of your thoughts for your own self, and not share such nonsense.
