3. Even the Republics in the hinterlands of VA are talking about Maxine. |
|
The only thing they hate more than a Dem is a corporate stooge (Geithner).
Is C-Span replacing Faux as preferred viewing in the waiting rooms of Dr.'s offices, beauty salons and auto repair shops? I was stunned by the number and types of people who either caught Maxine's grilling of Geithner or heard about it while it was happening.

Between Rahm in the House and Chuck int he Senate, they never met a conservadem that they did not like. In fact, they loved conservadems so much that they ousted any of the conservadem's liberal rivals in the primaries through threats, intimidation, etc., denying Democrats a real choice in the matter.
Many of these recruited conservadems were Republicans before Rahm recruited them.
Maxine is more than right....we rank and file Dems should have noticed this long ago, but we were too busy making excuses for it. Now we get nothing done and look like a party of wimps when ALL of the blame goes to us. Nice going, Rahm!!
No party can last long that stands for nothing. The Democratic party effectively stands for nothing because we insist on giving conservadems all of the power and freedom to vote against the party without consequence. If it wasn't for the Republicans destructive scorched earth politics turning off sane people, the Democrats would get precious few votes.

7. Corporate DLC - Shameless corporate pigs... |
|
Driven by & supporting corporate fucks...from the Clinton's to Ralm Emanuel to Carville to Obama...
Yes, they have some democratic ideology, but it's always corporations first, as we seen with the banks, the military & it's corporate demand for wars to continue AND we'll see it with health care - in the end there will be no public option...
These same DLC assholes like Emanuel wanted to take over Howard Dean and the DNC in 2007 - to completely control the democratic party with DLC candidates for the upcoming presidential race.
Back in 2006 Emanuel screamed at the great Howard Dean to give more support & DNC money to the DLC candidates, these same moderate blue dogs (republicans except in name) that will sabotage any true liberal ideology in the democratic party.....
Dean instead told Emanuel and DLC to basically, go fuck themselves. Dean told Emanuel that he & the DNC were going to stay with Dean's 50 state strategy, (and thanks to Dean the democrats won back congress in 2006)- and that same 50 state strategy was used again in 2008.
We here at DU all knew about the fucking corporate DLC for years. Now they are in power and we are stuck with them and the new corporate democratic party, more than likely forever.....Corporate money talks!

8. Her point is well taken. Another name for "Blue Dogs:" Republicans. |
|
I don't see much if any difference.
Thanks, Rahm.
Look for half of them to switch parties next year, and really stick it to us.

as it's been used as a corporate front since clinton. Once people wake up and realize that the blue dogs use progressive language like their ceo friends just DIE to co-opt radical songs for selling their products, the democrats could be finished.
Really all it will take is enough of this milquetoast-while-the-country's-collapsing lies and inaction and some republican type will yell protectionism, and the neo-liberal dlc movement is politically finished (well at least among the general population, I'm sure they'll be trying to fix voting machines when the primaries come along).

11. you would think that would mean they owe him. |
|
now if rahm were president, you might expect that means that rahm thinks like they do and does not WANT the things obama is calling for.
but seeing as how OBAMA is the president, rahm should be able to say "yes, sir" and call in his chits from the blue dogs.

13. I have faith it's going to ALL WORK OUT! |
|
I am almost to medicare age. I have the VA to cover me, having been a wounded Vietnam veteran. But I am still holding my faith that we WILL get single payer public option when all is said and done.
Anything less is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!
It's those strong voices like Representatives Watters, and Kucinich and others in the Senate and House that will be the saviors of our plight.
I realize they work in a cesspool of corruption, but it is THEIR TASK to take this on and make it happen for the good of the country.
F*CK the health insurance co's. They have raped and abused us long enough. Enough is enough!!

|
Maxine is someone who will wake you up -- of course this is what is going on --
Plus Emmanuel/DLC promised they they could vote however they wanted -- we wouldn't interfere!
Also -- note she makes clear they gave up Single Payer because of all the talk about
"conservatives" not going for it !!!
Wow -- thanks, Maxine!!!
A video well worth watching!!!!

What would you rather have, some Blue Dogs getting elected or the GOP controlling the House?
