5. Mass layoffs, consolidation,
relocating to 3rd world countries for the cheap labor, moving their headquarters to the Bahamas in order to avoid paying taxes, etc. just a few of the methods corporations love to use to make quick and dirty profits.

3. did not watch but its because of commoditized labor
too bad labor is impossible to successfully operate as a commodity, people need food etc, and can only fill the profit (inefficiency) gaps so far

And when lots and lots of people are out of work, you have a real reserve army of the unempoyed, as Marx called it, which helps hold down wages and benefits. It's a win-win for the plutocrats!
