If you care about the troops you should watch this video and share with others. This should be on all the News shows. I began protesting the war on Afghanistan because I knew this would happen, and continued protesting especially when Bush wanted to go to war with another "axis of evil"..
Of course I was protesting the killing of innocent lives, of course I was protesting the death and injuries of our troops.. but as I stood on the corner protesting, with hateful people yelling at us and flipping us off.. I knew we would have troops with severe head injuries and with severe PTSD.
It is painful to listen to these reports but we must and we must forward to our Legislatures and say NO MORE. and to take care of our troops when they come home.
this was on Democracy Now yesterday. Here is the link for that show. It is on DISH Network ch. 9415 and on many cable channels and radio. If you don't watch/listen to it, than you aren't really informed.
http://www.democracynow.org/2009/7/30/the_hell_of_war_comes_home*** A startling two-part series published in the Gazette newspaper of Colorado Springs titled “Casualties of War” examines a part of war seldom discussed by the media or government officials: the difficulty of returning to civilian life after being trained to be a killer. The story focuses on a single battalion based at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment. Soldiers from the brigade have have been involved in brawls, beatings, rapes, drunk driving, drug deals, domestic violence, shootings, stabbings, kidnapping and suicides. The Army unit’s murder rate is 114 times the rate for Colorado Springs. We speak with the reporter who broke the story and get the Army’s response. ***
