Chris Matthews peppers Toomey with questions about abortion, social issues and other political issues relative to the next election. Toomey gives a less-than-hearty endorsement of Sarah Palin as VP and Matthews calls him out on it putting pressure on his lack of strong support for the party figureheads in 2008. He won't indicate whether he'd rather have Sestak or Specter but he would probably rather be running down South given his credentials on social issues.

1. Sometimes Matthews knows where to dig -

Although his obnoxious paranoia about the health care living-will issue is beyond ridiculous. He needs to take a reality pill on that one.

2. Matthews also got Toomey to say he supports putting doctors....

who perform abortions in jail. That could and should cost him the election by itself.

5. Why is Toomey anywhere at all on DU? He is the product of Richard Mellon Scaife,

and he is no friend to Democrats.
