Some things regulated capitalism does well, but we cannot allow the free market--with its inherent failures-- to run health care here. he gave to Mr. Fink of MooreWatch in his movie. In case you don't know, one of Moore's biggest critics was about to shut down his website because he couldn't afford to pay his wife's medical bills. His "conservative friends" recommended a "cheaper" medical plan, to no avail. So Moore went ahead and donated $12K anonimously to help him out. Of course, when Mr. Fink found out, he went ape-shit, as expected of any conservative idiot.

36. I, uh, acquired the film

I was going to pay for it anyway but I just couldn't wait because I've been looking forward to it since it was announced. It made me bawl my eyes out, even more so than Fahrenheit 9/11. The healthcare system in this country is nothing less than genocide perpetuated by corporations on the American people. It's one thing to know in the abstract that it's fucked up but when you see a woman who had to bury her husband, another who buried a child, all due to HMOs refusing them care...it really makes me sick (no pun intended).

I think this movie will have a tremendous impact and hit people a lot closer to home than any of Moore's other films (and I say this as a huge fan of his). I'm going to see it in the theater and take a group of people with me.
