9. But, but, but there was no underlying crime so it was a witch hunt. |
|
This is what the right and other neocons keep spouting. I think it was Chris Mathews who said, "What was the underlying crime in the impeachment of Clinton? He was convicted of obstruction and lying to fed. prosc. also so what was his underlying crime?" That shut 'em up.
There doesn't have to be an "underling crime". Obstruction of Justice and Lying to fed. prosc. is a crime by itself. Once again it's the party of hypocrisy who believe in the rule of law only when it works for them. They refuse any oversight and when caught blame everyone else and demand pardons. What Moyers said was true. Libby may be all those great things but he broke the law as did many others but Libby did not have to lie or obstruct but he blatantly did so and was convicted for it. I agree with the Repubs in thinking many others should have been indicted also because they broke the law as well. Oh, I forgot, repubs don't care about the rule of law only the punishment when caught. Republican....Just another name for a criminal who has not been convicted yet. Thanks to the Bush administration. Libby is not sorry, has admitted no guilt, and has not cooperated in any way with the investigations. Therefore, He should not be pardoned. But since when does Bush care about the rule of law or lying or obstruction. Justice demands all these letter writers should be tried for war crimes.
