1. "I don't want to pay for your insurance"
hey idiots, you ALREADY do, and pay much more now than you would with a public option.

18. Is it just me?
But I thought she was laughing at the kid. (and how he kept climbing down and running around) I know I was.

Don't get me wrong... I love a chance to go off on a republican, but I don't think she was laughing at the mother over questions... I think she was laughing at that hilarious kid.

11. She talked about SCHIP, but she voted AGAINST its reauthorization.
"Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins today stood up for children in low-income families by voting against H.R. 2, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) Reauthorization Act, which would undercut the program’s mission to provide health coverage to low-income children, while increasing the opportunity for fraud by enabling illegal immigrants to enroll in SCHIP."

http://lynnjenkins.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=22&parentid=21§iontree=21,22&itemid=85

She used the specter of ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS to try to keep children from getting health care.

13. It is so obvious that the right has no empathy for people who are not as well off as they are.
Several times here at DU there were posts that pointed out the characteristics of conservatives. One that always was there was the fact that conservatives do not have empathy for others.

This health care debate is between those who want health care for everyone and those selfish bastards who don't give a shit about anyone else!

Why in the world would we want to compromise with conservatives?

19. Lunacy on Parade
I went to her town hall here. Lunacy on parade. Nothing but talking points for 45 minutes. Her only reply to me as a small biz owner who is foundering under health care costs was "they'll raise your taxes"

republicans are some sickening combination of being both vile assholes, and criminally ignorant . Just can't listen to em nor for the most part watch the staggeringly stupid idiots who support, and clap and cheer for em.

24. Q: "Why should I pay for Your health-care?"
Short A: Because it's in your own self-interest.
Q: How so?
Longer A: Flu season's coming. If I get infected with "swine flu" and can't afford health-care, I might pass you in the supermarket and cough on you or your children, infecting you and your family. That's why we should all work together to protect everyone else, you selfish fuck.

25. Not the mother, her toddler, who at that moment was running
around the room, and it was very cute.

I don't want to defend someone like Rep. Jenkins (of the Great White Hope comment), but I think that's what's really going on here, and it's been misinterpreted as laughing at the single mother.

To me it looks like she's looking at the cute toddler's antics. I think saying "You = Fail" fails on its own. How about trying an intelligent sentence?

28. You are 100% right.
That is exactly what I saw... since I was doing the same thing. I get that we are supposed to vilify republicans (because they deserve it) but I would rather spend time slamming them for stuff they actually did wrong.

At most it was inappropriate, but I do not believe she was laughing at the mother's questions.

29. The kid isn't even around when she starts laughing. She's laughing at the suggestion
of a "Government Run Program" and how it's going to subsidize everyone's health care.

30. FAIL! Wrong!
Watch closely. The kid runs off camera. He then starts woofing like a dog, at which time she starts to laugh. Listen for it.

The kid then runs back on camera behind the table.

She is laughing at the kid.

Making up stuff that isn't even in the video. She never laughed when the kid was in the video doing silly shit. Your defense of her is suspect.

32. And you are just wrong.
I thought Republicans were the only ones who like to ignore facts so they could vilify people. And calling me suspect... that's laughable. No freeper lasts this long. Nice try though.

It's clear as a bell. Watch the video and listen again. The little boy runs off camera, then you hear him going woof woof woof, then she laughs. Then he runs back on camera behind the table and around to his mother.
