Perino was chosen because she is very pretty, very young, "nice," and totally innocent of all knowledge. If the reporters come down too hard on her, it will seem as though they are beating up on a child. Reminds me of why Bush was chosen to be Cheney's puppet. Bush is so child-like that beating up on him is like beating up on a child.
