1. Words are all I have. . . .

. . . .and they aren't enough to describe my outrage.

BF got an email yesterday morning from one of the boys -- now grown up -- he used to coach in junior high and high school sports. The email was to inform him that another of those boys -- now 30 years old and father of toddlers -- had been killed in Afghanistan last week. BF did not take it well.

I never knew the kid, or his brothers (who were also in sports and also coached by the BF back in the day), or his parents or his wife or his friends or anyone else. My outrage therefore can only be a tiny fraction of what they might feel if they could feel anything through their grief.

This is not the America I grew up in, and I grew up in the America of Johnson and McNamara, Nixon and Haldeman, the America of Kent State and My Lai. What we have now is something far, far, far worse. That America knew enough to be collectively outraged. I don't think this one does.

Simply re-task those contractors so they are protecting frontline troops by occupying a buffer zone between belligerent parties.

At least that way they will earn their high salaries by doing something other than embarrassing their employers.

9. a super-hyper macho guy I used to work with who was a jock muscle boy who came across anti-gay told

us a story at work about all of his college buddies doing "shoot the moon" drinking.... and he laughed and said it was nuts!


OH WAS IT NUTS! He did an acting out of what it was (clothed of course) and said you pour the beer down the crack of the ass of another guy and drink it....



Yeah....


I was shocked. What is up with these people? I suppose this guy I know woulda done something similar to this, although I don't think he would have hurt anyone, but I could see him doing some of the stuff I read.
