the right's hero Ronald Reagan's bogus story about the Cadillac-driving "welfare queen" who defrauded welfare. Reagan's intent was to paint all people receiving food stamps and welfare with a very ugly broad brush in order to justify cutting those programs.

The guy who had his finger bitten off is on Medicare, a government run program. He is one of the people vehemently bashing Obama's plan to offer a public option similar to Medicare as "socialism".

The OP is pointing out the hypocrisy of a guy on Medicare being against socialized medicine.

Hi I have lurked at DU for many years but this video has compelled me to write my first post. I wake up very early in the morning and before I leave for work, I usually read some news articles. This morning, I saw a headline about this story on yahoo (its now gone)and thought it would be an interesting read. According to the article. The "victim" refused to say what his stance was regarding health care reform. He said he was driving down the street and noticed some protesters. He got out of the to see what was going on and somehow got into a fight ( the article was very sketchy on details) They made him sound as if he was just an innocent bystander that had no part in the protest. I wish I could find the original article it is so different from this interview. perhaps someone with better internet research skills could find it.

So this morning he was an innocent bystander victimized by some health care reform extremists.
