As the late Gary Webb documented in his Dark Alliance series (later expanded into a book), the Contras were involved in the spread of crack cocaine in America during the 1980's. So I guess Ronnie liked them for more than just their old-fashioned hatred of democracy and support for terrorist attacks on civilian populations - yeah, it turns out he also loved them because they had the best drugs available for him and his crackhead wife!
