Glenn BecKKK & His Mentor Rush Limbaugh Are Getting Paranoid About The Fairness Doctrine Coming Back |
|
Glenn BecKKK recounts his version of the Fairness Doctrine's history: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aVSEpheogsOh god, I'm not religious but I promise I'll drink wine and eat bread every Sunday if his predictions come true.

1. I'm confused who they're talking about |
|
The Liberals are giving their people marching orders, sending (busing?) them out, and the Democrat party is falling apart? The Obama Administration is threatening our freedoms? Whatever happened to we have to give up some freedoms to preserve our way of life?
If this dialogue had taken place a few years ago, I could agree completely.

2. 'They' are going to seize power? |

Edited on Sat Sep-05-09 05:57 PM by Seldona
From whom? Ourselves? In case old Rush the water carrying junkie has failed to notice, the American people put the Democratic Party in power. I know he probably has cognitive problems from the drug abuse, and Beck is just plain crazy, but what about the people taking these two knuckle-draggers seriously?
WTF is up with them?

The right is so tightly wound and top-down controlled they have no inkling that another way of being is possible. The problem with the left in this country is not being too organized and domineering but that we are a disorganized coalition that temporarily has something in common. Being afraid of Democrats is as silly as the proverbial elephant afraid of a mouse. LOL.:bounce: :dem:

Why unrec it? The purpose of rec'ing a post is to let others know that it should be watched. And this video should be watched so everyone knows what Beck & Rush are up to.

12. Yes- "this video should be watched so everyone knows what Beck & Rush are up to". |
|
As I see it, IF the video contains no editorial message debunking the message like, say a TYT vid for example. where Cenk comes on and displays how stupid or hypocritical it is... when it's the GOP message alone and un-rebuffed it should be Un'd.
"The purpose of rec'ing a post is to let others know that it should be watched". Is it? Or is it to state agreement or dis-agreement to the content? If the prior, is a "rec" to determine that some videos are more important, or of better quality, than others? If the latter, a "Nay" vote (Un) count should be tallied along with the "Yay"s... but, alas- all we get is the "<0" count to tell. As we currently have it- the "Unrec"s are only indicators that there are lurking freepers and trolls shitting on our parades.
These are some of my thoughts to your question. I see your point, Tx4. Hopefully this explains mine...

Recommending is just that, recommending that it's worth watching/reading. As the screen used to say, if it gets 5 recommendations it'll go to the Greatest Page. Unrecommending really only works to keep a video/article from the Greatest Page. Say it gets to 5 and someone doesn't want it on the Greatest, they can take it off by making it a 4. That's it.
My opinion is that the disapproval thing would only work if there were a thumbs up and down function as well as the recommendations. If it has a <0 people are less likely to watch a video/read an article because that is the only sign of disapproval available - apart from a constant 4, a constant 4 is like the video's worth watching but not worthy of the Greatest. Part of the function of the Greatest is for DUers who visit different fora to have a chance to see what is being recommended to watch/read on other boards that they might otherwise miss, like a news aggregator service. So a 4 is like it's good but not important enough for other DUers on different boards to watch/read.
If it gets more than 5 recomendations and climbs up the Greatest, the more chance it gets of being seen by other DUers. The higher it goes, the bigger the view count and sometimes there's a snowball effect.
Sometimes there are conversations that go on inside threads that DUers think make the whole thing worth recommending, too.
There is another side of unrecommending that the moderators probably find useful. If someone posts a thread that is obviously anti Faux and/or pro-Obama and it gets unrecommended from the get go (or later) it can help the mods know there's a freeper/troll around and they will keep a closer eye on their activities. Obviously I'm not casting that assertion your way, just saying that it can set off alarm bells sometimes.
ETA I've been on the fence about the unrecommend function since it was introduced but am starting to come to the conclusion that a thumbs up/down function would be a good addition so that people can register their disapproval as well as recommending or just simply add their disapproval.
Just my take on the whole thing, anyway.

Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh together..raising an army to fight Obama's army! The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
These guys need men in white coats to take them away for psychiatric evaluation. Just how do we get a court order?

7. It's like one of those nutty religious channels |

they're just speaking in tongues and convulsing as the spirit takes over their earthly bodies.
But in reality of course they are, like that guy on KO said, trying to get Obama killed.

9. I like the fact that Rush |
|
admits he is not part of a majority, "as much as almost half of the nation". Hell Rush makes up almost half the weight of the right by himself. What he's most afraid of is that he let a snicker bar get lost in the sofa.
