In essence, it funnels public money to private schools without expecting anything in return--sort of like the Wall Street bailout.

5. This pointless outrage points up the absurdity of our political discourse.

By all accounts, Obama's going to deliver a good conservative bootstrapping "sink or swim" lecture to the kids, yet conservatives rage at Obama. It's stupid even from their point of view of wanting to campaign against him, because it will predictably prove offputting to anyone but crazed teabaggers.

10. Saw it live - it was good to see a member of the Obama administration lay out their objectives...

...(on ANY issue, this one on education) without senseless interruptions or the melodrama we see these days during interviews or town halls.

He did a great job, I was really impressed.
