3. All of the kids at my elementary saw it. |

It really was a great speech. I can't see how any of it could be perceived as controversial.

4. Conservatives are maniacs for wanting to own their kids like property. |
|
Look for homeschooling and enrollment in Christian academies to spike during Obama's presidency.

they wouldn't find out we have a black POTUS. Confederate flags down most the roads around here tells you a lot. Welcome to redneck/redstate hell.

15. Alabama. That says it all. |
|
One of my kids was allowed to see it today but had to get on to some other kids that were being disruptive during it. I was proud of her. I asked what the teacher was doing that she had to straighten them out and was told "nothing.."

19. I had some problems in Alabama |
|
because of my long hair, people at a taco bell threatend us and said they were getting their rifle, I laughed, said their 3 rifle bullets were not shit compared to my 14 9 mm bullets and went and started loading my glock in my van, my father got in the van, and drove us away before i did anything stupid. I imagine that Alabama is no worse than rural illilinois or indiana

That was a fantastic speech. I am very impressed that he basically said that no matter what the STATE does for you, it is ultimately UP TO YOU to succeed.
Too often I am dismayed by the general sentiment around here that seems to indicate that if you succeed in life it is because you were lucky, or it was fate. It is refreshing to hear our Democratic President put it so bluntly that we are all directly responsible for our futures.
Also, I don't see how anyone could possibly think this speech was inappropriate for children.

Where is the controversy?????? Stupid ass racists just cannot stand to see a nigger who is more intelligent than they are. They cant get past it. And they are also miserable souls like Huck Finn's father who wanted to take Huck down a peg or two because Huck was learning how to read. The father could not read and did not want his son to learn how because he did not want his son to be better than he was. My grade school teacher got us to think of that for ourselves by asking us if there was something wrong with the way Huck's dad acted. I guess many parents still haven't read huck finn..........Idiots who do not want their kids to learn and become well rounded humans because they do not want their kids to go on to better things than they themselves were able to do. They look like the fools they are and their reaction should make the Democrats win a few more senate seats in the next election. Republicans look like anti education, anti youth, anti knowledge fools. More and more the the educated voters will move from Republican to Democrat because of this even if it means the wealthy may pay a bit more in taxes. I give a big thanks to the racist/idiot branch of the Republican Party. Keep it up and we will be able to kick the blue dogs out of the party and still have a majority in the senate and the house....

It is a horrible word but I truly believe that that word is what was going through the minds of most of the people who did not want Obama giving a speech to their kids. they see him as a biggity n*****. Their small minds cannot get past their hatred. I am truly sorry if I offended you or anyone else but I was so angry that those idiots said that the speech was controversial that I felt moved to say what I think was really on their mind.

You are right on, but it's just best to do it like you just did with the N***** thing instead of the whole word. But, yes race is a major factor in all the Obama hatred, no doubt about it.
