7. A non profti public option is essential if mandates apply....

I can't see mandates lasting though right wingers and even our side will reject it in practive. The concept of mandates only work for a single payer system. Mandates will be a fail as soon as it put in place, if it's put in place. Regardless how this bill works out I think progressives will still be pushing for single payer where mandates work , and which are unavoidalbe where it's pay by tax. Just let them put it into effect it'd receive an enourmous backlash and they'd have remove it anyways. The public optionhas to be stong for folks to realize it's good for everyone, and therefore a movement ofr single payer is stronger.

Great episode. I hope it isn't a done deal that we are tossing the public option as of yet. More people are plunged into poverty, and lose their insurance, every day. In fact I believe last year was the single biggest addition to the amount of people put into poverty in American history. Now isn't the time to start wavering. People are dying over this, literally.
