Max Blumenthal covers the 9.12 anti-Obama rally on the National Mall, where tens of thousands of teabaggers demonstrated their opposition to healthcare reform by calling Obama the biggest Nazi in the world, claiming he wants to put "real" Americans in concentration camps, and was born in Kenya. But how many of them have health insurance, and do they know they're pawns in the game of healthcare industry front man Dick Armey? Of course not.

Wow, some scarily disinformed characters in this one.

2. I need to go change my "dipers" now!
Aside from the usual "freeper" stupidity I have to womder if these people have any concept of the differences between the fascist and socialist economic philosophies.

3. They are truly worrying, but something tells me someday this will all backfire on Republicans...
Edited on Mon Sep-14-09 05:34 AM by GivePeaceAchance
It just seems destined too. You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time. The truth will find a way and once these people begin to figue out how they've been manipulated by the right for a long while it won't be pretty.

7. sounds just like my 87-year-old Aunt Betty
The truth is my Aunt Betty is a kindly and reasonably tolerant person in ordinary life.

If one took away religion and politics my Aunt Betty is a reasonably intelligent and perceptive person.

I'm beginning to think that the right-wing is a kind of cult which brainwashes people and causes them to turn off all their critical faculties and just emote.

8. The man who yelled "FREEDOM!!!"
What, exactly does "freedom" have to do with having the most expensive healthcare in the world, yet being ranked only #37th?

I don't get it. These people are so stupid, it's incredible.

10. Wow.
The level of stupidity and ignorance is stunning. Especially since most of them are so confident about it.

11. Delusional folks...
I have a theory, that these folks are suffering from severe repression of emotion, ego and false pride,as a result of * years of Bush and company brainwashing. We must be concerned and reassure them that mental health programs will become available as we progress toward health care reform. We ought to start a reality show entitled De-Programing the Tea-Baggers.TEA-BAGGERS ARE SUFFERING FROM STOCKHOLM SYNDROME,would be a great bumper sticker.:headbang:

14. YW. I believe it is important to know where these people come from
Saves one from wasting time trying to compromise with fears not based in reality in a person who sees the world radically different than most do. For ones like Sarah Palin their church teaches them that the world is full of evil spirits they must constantly battle and to them it is ethical to pray for harm and even death of those they consider enemies (see http://www.talk2action.org/story/2008/10/20/195730/89 ). They may be a minority group but they are dedicated because they think America and the salvation of the world depends on them. They aren't harmless loons and they won't live and let live.

another culture warrior group which intends to have an impact, and maybe already is, is the Quiverfull movement -
http://www.osborneink.com/2009/09/duggars-make-nineteenth-warrior-for.html

"The womb is such a powerful weapon; it's a weapon against the enemy," Campbell says..."My greatest impact is through my children. The more children I have, the more ability I have to impact the world for God." (Emphasis mine)

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition. The womb is Jesus's own birth-cannon for the war against the Beast. Kathryn Joyce, author of Quiverfull: Inside the Christian Patriarchy Movement added this:

"They speak about, 'If everyone starts having eight children or 12 children, imagine in three generations what we'll be able to do,' " Joyce says. " 'We'll be able to take over both halls of Congress, we'll be able to reclaim sinful cities like San Francisco for the faithful, and we'll be able to wage very effective massive boycotts against companies that are going against God's will.' "

Max is brave for getting in amongst these uninformed people, to expose the ignorance.
