Trial began today (9/14/2009) for eight members of Minnesota's peace and social justice community charged with trespass at last year's Republican National Convention in St. Paul. Defendant Steve Clemens explains that a letter he was carrying at the time of the group's arrest which was addressed to then President George Bush about violations of international and national law is relevant to the group's defense involving their state of mind and lack of criminal intent in attempting to enter the RNC

1. Very important
and as usual these gov. rigged trials get zero news coverage. We are in a police state.

2. Was anyone arrested at the Tea-bagger mob
scene in DC last weekend? Were there even any of those cops dressed up in futuristic, video game outfits?

They arrested Amy Goodman at the Convention, surely there must have someone they could have arrested at the Tea-bagger screamfest?

Goodman said that when she ran up to find out what was going on, she was also arrested.

"They seriously manhandled me and handcuffed my hands behind my back. The top ID is to get on the floor and the Secret Service ripped that off me. I had my Democracy Now! ID too. I was clearly a reporter."

Goodman, who was released after being charged with a misdemeanor, said that Salazar had been hurt in the face, while Kouddous had been thrown up against a wall and hurt his elbow.

Cops in riot gear to protect themselves from those vicious 'lefties', like reporter Amy Goodman.

3. And with Amy - remember she was running up to find out why they were
arresting the Democracy Now crew - all were wearing all the journalist eligibility credentials - they were licensed. But the cops went after them.

Minnesota mayors, city-county-state police, and the Governor along with Republican stage managers deliberately took an assault initiative.
