2. Coltrane's solo on the 'alternate take' is better. |
|
Better in that its more interesting melodically, has more thematic development.
Oh, and I'm reminded of something I read earlier today:
"We have our history written all over us. Literally. Brainy mammals contrive to increase the area of their grey matter within the confines of the skull – hence the wrinkles in the human brain. Not surprisingly, atheists' brains are wrinklier than theists' brains, while creationists' resemble those of a goat." -John Crace

Freedom of Religion means to me that my spirituality is none of anyone's business. I have the freedom to believe anything I want, yet I do not have the right to force others to believe what I do.
It is a nice theory, that religion and low IQ go together. Cults work to erase people's free will and ability to reason independently and explore the world, certainly affecting their IQ!! I have posted here I wish cults were banned and I still feel strongly about this. The tolerance of cults in the name of freedom of religion is creating a haven for extremists to form very unhealthy and often violent world views. Cults are ego based, most often intolerant, racist and fear based-- and it is for this reason their values conflict with American values.
Most religions and spiritual paths, on the other hand, have been chosen freely by people, and they find strength, community and comfort from sharing their lives with other people. These people are free to attend or not attend, and although I have witnessed intolerance in churches I have gone to, they do not preach violence.
I had religion pretty much forced on me as a child, so I do not like holy rollers telling me what to believe, as much as I do not like someone telling me that I am stupid, woo woo or insane for believing the things I do believe.
