How can he look at himself in a mirror in the morning and not see the racism in society when it is so obvious?

I say that as an older woman who has to look in the mirror every morning and recognize the sexism and ageism that are rampant in our society. I am not judging Michael Steele for a fault I haven't acknowledged in myself at times.

Some years ago I, over 60 at the time, was having lunch in a restaurant with a group of young people from my workplace. I did not say a word, did not protest at all when they thoroughly dissed an elderly weather reporter on television. I have often asked myself why I said nothing. Was I ashamed, afraid? I never trusted any of them after that. I became a misfit.

I wonder what is really going on in Michale Steele's subconscious when he sees the racist signs?

I paid a big price for ignoring the ageism I heard from those young people. Michael Steele will pay a price if he ignores the racism in his own party.

in this country are in denial about the racist crap that is being thrown our President's way. I don't now why I guess they would like to think we are past it but we so obviously are not.
