This is a video excerpt of Ken Ham and his AIG associates indoctrinating young children. It is from Alexandra Pelosi's Road Trip with God.

Watch while you can, it keeps getting deleted by You Tube when it gets attention.

I just posted a thread saying that Bill Foster, candidate for mayor of St. Petersburg, Florida, is a Creationist. He believes that dinosaurs walked the earth with men.

He appears to be a young earth Creationist...thinking the world is about 6 thousand years old.

Yet according to the plans in place by our new Secretary of Education...mayors of large cities should be in charge of schools instead of school boards.

St. Pete is the 4th largest city in Florida. That would be interesting if Foster were to win.

“Dinosaurs are mentioned in Job, so I don’t have any problem believing that dinosaurs roamed the earth,’’ says St. Petersburg mayoral candidate Bill Foster. He says he believes dinosaurs and humans lived at the same time, though most scientists say there is a gap of at least 60 million years between dinosaurs and mankind."

..."St. Petersburg mayoral candidate Bill Foster believes, contrary to the overwhelming majority of scientists, that dinosaurs and humans co-existed. He believes the world was created in six literal days, and he once complained to school officials when his son was taught about Darwin's theory of evolution in fifth grade.

Is that relevant to the campaign for mayor of Florida's fourth-largest city?

"This city is trying to increase its employment base with respect to scientific organizations and trying to recruit scientific concerns to come here,'' said St. Petersburg architect Michael Dailey, who supports Kathleen Ford, Foster's opponent. "If our mayor has a belief system that basically rejects science, how can people take him seriously?"

He also linked Darwinism to Hitler and Columbine.

4. Obviously not, because Plato said that Atlantis existed ten thousand
years ago, and the earth is only 6 thousand years old.

And besides, Atlantis is not mentioned in the bible.

intellectually, educationally and socially. These people are willfully ignorant, which makes them stupid and unable to reason. When superstition becomes the norm we will be nothing but a third rate country with nuclear weapons, much like North Korea and soon Iran.

on edit: this response should have been directed at the original post.

and march on Washington complaining of "Lyin Africans" in the White House.

Sad.

5. Indoctrination of young children into any false belief system is too sad to watch.
How many of those kids will grow up as ignorant as their parents? It really helps explain the stupidity of the teabaggers.

10. As the Jesuits have long maintained
give a child into their hands before that child has reached 7 years of age and they will give you a catholic for life.

The brain of a child has no firewall.

11. The older, hard core, right wing, religious fundamentalists can be down right exasperating at times
There are religious fundamentalists that insist the Bible demands separation of the races and in the same breath will tell you that America is a white country

15. Another kick.
I went to private school K through 9, Flintstones wasn't considered a documentary but I was taught god was "mischievous" and let the devil put dinosaur bones in the ground to test our faith. Actually I can't remember if it was the god or devil they said. Does it really matter? Nah.

One thing I never understood with all the eager creation "scientists" out there is that if they could prove god existed, there would be no faith anymore. It would just be fact. So, it seems to me they are trying to destroy faith. Seems ironic.

When I was really little I can remember thinking the smallest parts of matter if you could see them would have "Made by God" stamped on them. Funny what little kids will believe.

I feel sorry for these whackos. They are rooting lies in the minds of children and when they are older and these children find out they were taught lies, how easy it is for everything they taught to unravel. I suppose they really don't care about the intellectually curious children anyway, they will probably lose those ones no matter what.

13. wow, even Jack Van Impe knows the world is very old (however old it really is)
and said that the 6,000 years thing for those who are educated in it's origination of where the theory came from, was the "modern age" of man or something of that kind, and he went on for several minutes about how great science is. The earth is clearly an old place! I mean, shit,

Babs is like 20000 years old!

17. Here's the odd thing

they don't have a clue what is Genesis.

It actually has two discreet creation stories that have been edited together.

Now here is the really scary thing: Biblical Research has estabished the sentence above as fact 150 years ago and it has remained unchallenged by peer review - even by conservative biblical scholars (except for the lunatic fringe). Despite being well understood seminary trained pastors have been too chicken to teach what they know for decades.

19. What I find odd is the fact that Creationists
think that Darwinism is incompatible with Genesis becasue they take the Bible "literally", hence their disapproval of Darwinsim. Yet they refuse to take John 6:53–55 literally...hmmmm

So to believe them, getting Gensesis "right" is more important than John 6:53-55. Yet at the end of the day, One would think striving to get John 6:53-55 "right" would be a heck of a lot more important to salvation than Genesis

Heck even the Catholic Church has stated that Darwinism is not incompatible with Church teaching.
They state what the Christian is to get out of Genesis is that god created everything. Evolution
could merely be the way it was done...

18. Religious indoctrination is child abuse
done by ignorant resentful adults that don't understand/feel left behind by the modern world. They hate knowledge and live in a small faux universe where a flat earth is the center of the solar system. This is just their way of saying "screw modern progressive civilization, you're smarter than us".

easily explainable declarations of fact. Whether they are factual or not.

Analysis, introspection, learning, and exposure to new ideas are anathema.

29. Yeah they ARE nuts
1. It's "indoctrination" for a Democratic president (Obama) to encourage kids to stay in school--to the point of being like Communist. Yet there's nothing wrong with Republican presidents (Reagan, Bush 41) to do the same damn thing.
2. They want public schools to impose Christian values and religion on the students, yet they're quick to smear public school religious neutrality (that follows the 1st Amendment) as "anti-Christian" and all that nonsense.

25. Job 40:15 describes mythical dragons
Not dinosaurs. These people don't read, or they have no comprehension. They all prefer to be told what something says in the Bible instead of reading it themselves.

This part in Job where it talks about "Behemoth" indeed describes a fantastic creature, but as it goes on, the creature has scales on its back and breathes fire. It sure is interesting how these preachers all select just the parts that suit them, and they leave out the parts that don't neatly fit their narrative.

27. Great pictures.
Thanks for sharing.

Catch this picture from one of Ken Ham's books for children. Friendly dinosaurs, happy doggies and people.

Why is it so important to them to prove a young earth that had dinosaurs with humans? Why is that so vital to the religious right? I can't figure that.
