I just posted a thread saying that Bill Foster, candidate for mayor of St. Petersburg, Florida, is a Creationist. He believes that dinosaurs walked the earth with men.

He appears to be a young earth Creationist...thinking the world is about 6 thousand years old.

Yet according to the plans in place by our new Secretary of Education...mayors of large cities should be in charge of schools instead of school boards.

St. Pete is the 4th largest city in Florida. That would be interesting if Foster were to win.

He says he believes dinosaurs and humans lived at the same time, though most scientists say there is a gap of at least 60 million years between dinosaurs and mankind."

"If our mayor has a belief system that basically rejects science, how can people take him seriously?"

He also linked Darwinism to Hitler and Columbine.

I went to private school K through 9, Flintstones wasn't considered a documentary but I was taught god was "mischievous" and let the devil put dinosaur bones in the ground to test our faith. Actually I can't remember if it was the god or devil they said. Does it really matter? Nah.

One thing I never understood with all the eager creation "scientists" out there is that if they could prove god existed, there would be no faith anymore. It would just be fact. So, it seems to me they are trying to destroy faith. Seems ironic.

When I was really little I can remember thinking the smallest parts of matter if you could see them would have "Made by God" stamped on them. Funny what little kids will believe.

I feel sorry for these whackos. They are rooting lies in the minds of children and when they are older and these children find out they were taught lies, how easy it is for everything they taught to unravel. I suppose they really don't care about the intellectually curious children anyway, they will probably lose those ones no matter what.

think that Darwinism is incompatible with Genesis becasue they take the Bible "literally", hence their disapproval of Darwinsim. Yet they refuse to take John 6:53–55 literally...hmmmm

So to believe them, getting Gensesis "right" is more important than John 6:53-55. Yet at the end of the day, One would think striving to get John 6:53-55 "right" would be a heck of a lot more important to salvation than Genesis

This part in Job where it talks about "Behemoth" indeed describes a fantastic creature, but as it goes on, the creature has scales on its back and breathes fire. It sure is interesting how these preachers all select just the parts that suit them, and they leave out the parts that don't neatly fit their narrative.
