Republicans say they are upset about czars in the Obama administration. Many tea party protesters even display their ignorance of history and associate czars with the USSR. What about recent history? What did Republicans say when President George W. Bush had more czars than President Obama?


I guess Czars are only for white Presidents!

1. This is still just a non-issue and should be treated

(ignored) like one. Other countries use other words (like Minister, Secretary, and Ambassador) of which the stupidest Americans are unaware. So what? Our time and efforts shouldn't be based around the complete ignorance of the least educated members of our society.

Why is it up to the rest of us to point these things out?

2. A lot of these "czars" are what I would call "liaison officers".

They exist to coordinate the efforts of various federal agencies involved in a major issue, to avoid duplication of effort. This makes perfect sense to me. But then, I'm not an uninformed right-wing wackaloon.

You can't explain that to someone who never knew there were czars except in Russia. You'd find yourself having to define the word "liaison".
