Gil Smart details how the ongoing teabag protests bear a striking resemblance to the anti-war movement of the late 1960s in their radicalism and their erroneous insistence that the protesters represent the "silent majority."

Yeah! All those anti-war protests were sponsored by big corporations and had fuzzy and mixed up goals. I remember those long haired hippies carrying guns to those peace rallies too. And they were practically all white. The Tea Baggers are just like them!

6. Y'know, the Teabaggers WISH they were like the 60's war protesters. Then they'd have a POINT.

8. Interesting, but it fails logic on so many levels.
Most of the teabaggers don't even know what they are protesting.

9. Actually the teabaggers are imitating the hippies
of the late 1960's in their tactics. It only took them 40 years. They always wanted to be like the "cool kids", but their imitation is a sad mutation of the original.

:wtf:
I was one of those hippies, and he doesn't know what he's talking about.
The Limbaughs, and Becks, and others are nothing more than propagandists, working for the right. This slimy schmuck is too!

13. Protesting Hippies pushed for policies which went against their own interests??
You know I am beginning to think maybe folks like Leary and Kesey were correct. Maybe everyone should take LSD or DMT or Psilocybin to open their eyes.

LOL

14. Gil is sooooo full of it.
I was at Kent State and it wasn't tea baggers that got shot. The Port Huron Statement was not written by tea baggers. It wasn't tea baggers I was tear gassed with at Chicago in '68. Gil needs to detox and more accurately recall what we were about.

15. I don't know if the teabaggers are the 21st century's answer to the hippies, but . . .
that last woman was clearly tripping her brains out.

Turn on (Fux News)!
Tune in (Glen Beckkk)!
Drop out (please!)
