14. This kind of news is drowned out by the selatious & sensational nature of race politics.

The right is very shrewd at keeping themselves in the news. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. We must stop letting the loudmouths on the right, keep framing the debate. THEY LOST! They are masters at getting media attention. DU is a prime example of this. Any day of the week, you can find a half dozen or more threads on Glenn Beck, or Fox News.

Stop being pissed at the president, when even the few voices we have in the media, are obsessed & constantly giving us hours of sound bytes from Fox, and other hate outlets. Perhaps it gets ratings, but it does nothing to further the debate on the issues we say we care about.

Honest to Pete, I wish the admins would create a feature that would allow us to block names & entire phrases. "Glenn Beck", "Sarah Palin", and "Fox News" would be the first ones I'd block.

15. Cenk is right that there are a lot of terrorists who are biting the dust. He's wrong that

staying in Vietnamistan is going to help us kill the rest of al Qaeda and finish off the group.

That is the same mindset that kept us in Vietnam. Keep killing off the leaders and you'll destroy the resistance. Bullshit. Anybody remember the Phoenix Program in Vietnam? They assassinated thousands of local, regional and national VC leaders but the fight continued.

We cannot kill these movements with bullets. The cause will survive. They want US out of their affairs. They want US to let them decide how they will live their lives. When will we ever learn??
