Denninger says that the U.S. should have allowed the economy to take it's natural course and let it collapse back in 2000, then again in 2007 and 2008. I thought that the economy was in pretty good shape when Bush took office in 2000.

If you go to Karl's web site http://market-ticker.denninger.net/
and scroll back a few pages, he has an often used graph that shows y since the 1980's
our economy was held up by a series of bubbles, BS gov't reporting, and increasing fraudulent accounting rules.
Since 2007, Karl has been stating that after 20 years of constant bubbles, we have run out the string
and the economy HAS to hit the wall.
Actually, he says it HAS hit the wall, but the MSM and Gov't are not mentioning it.

But I'm not an economist. Are there any math geeks here that can substantiate this?
