I've watched "The Story of Stuff". It is eye-opening, a bit biased towards exaggeration - but very thought-provoking, especially when you begin to ask yourself how can people be getting rich over buying things and throwing them in the garbage after a few months . . . and how our economy actually runs these days. I recommend it to everyone, especially with a discussion period afterwards. :)

Beck, of course, goes apoplectic. And begins drawing charts.

The vid in question simplifies for it's audience, but it's facts are not inaccurate. It has a point of view, but a good one. Its good that kids learn the ACTUAL way our government is supposed to works and how corporations and the military overshadow and intertwine with government power. Much better than the sanitized propaganda about american exceptionalism we learned as kids. I'm sure this is a local issue, chosen by schools in liberal areas. I'm CERTAIN this isn't being shown in the heart of Texas.

The question is, what is "necessary and proper?"

Is heath care necessary and proper? Currently the United States; in spite of spending the most on health care of any other nation is ranked 37th.

Every other developed nation believes their citizen's health care is "necessary and proper."

This is why Medicare should be open to everyone from he cradle to the grave and this is why they should be allowed to negotiate for lower drug prices, put the American Peoples' health over the narrow for profit interests of "health" insurance and Pharmaceutical corporations.
