Cenk makes the valid point that even after all the money and energy spent by the Medical Industrial Complex on trying to crush the Public Option, 65% of respondents http://www.nytimes.com/imagepages/2009/09/25/us/politics/25pollgrx.html">polled by the NYT still want it, versus 26% who don't.

Poll: Public Option Favored By 65% Of Americans

The Huffington Post | Rachel Weiner

A New York Times/CBS poll found that http://www.nytimes.com/imagepages/2009/09/25/us/politics/25pollgrx.html">65% of respondents want a public health care option, while only 26% opposed such a plan.

However, respondents said that President Obama had not been clear on health care reform. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/25/us/politics/25poll.html?pagewanted=1&_r=2&hp">Fifty-five percent said he had not explained his plan clearly, and many felt under-informed about the policies under discussion.

The Senate Finance Committee http://swampland.blogs.time.com/2009/09/25/no-public-option-debate-until-tuesday/">will vote on a government-run health insurance option Tuesday.

"We're going to have a full blown debate in the Finance Committee," http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/24/public-option-headed-for_n_299232.html">said Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), a backer of the public option. While it may be an "underdog," Schumer said, "don't count it out."

1. 65 % of Americans, after all the propaganda campaign, still want
the public option. So is this the most visible sign that the people hold no sway over their elected officials? Take this away from this finance committee. Americans have been asking for this right since the 1970's.

3. Noam Chomsky calls US"a failed state" because
polls show --- and have shown for years --- that Americans want what other countries want --- no war and public health care. There is a disconnect between the will of the people and the legislation passed by politicians of both parties.

2. Has there been a single poll whose results showed that people are against the PO?
