Incest is not funny. Speaking as a 53 year old survivor, I can assure you that I spent much of my young adult life coming to terms with the fact that a man better than twenty years my senior, and married to my much older sister, stole my virginity (when I was a child), and perped on me until I escaped to college. A Consciousness Raising Group helped me understand that I did not seduce this pathetic child molester (his 'excuse' for his behavior, after one of my younger sisters revealed he'd done the same thing to her).

A lot of recovery work has helped me use the strengths I developed as a survivor to help other survivors. But, to this day, my sisters and the rest of our family blame me for the molester's behavior and for the damage caused to our family when his actions came to light. And, I still have to be vigilant around male authority figures, as I tend to accept at face value whatever utterances issue forth from their mouths.

So, I feel sorry for Maher. His lack of sensitivity about incest is akin to Bill O'Reilly's sick assertions that Shawn Hornbeck 'enjoyed' his years of imprisonment and sexual abuse at the hands of another bizarre--and criminal--child molester. Both should take a close look at their creepy attitudes and get an education about incest and any other form of child sexual abuse. Incest and child sexual abuse are not subjects fit for humor, and I doubt they ever will be.
