I'd like to see that data and survey sampling - complete joke. I'd agree if you include 'mad as hell... at the idiots on TV like him' - bwahahahahaha

the real entire point of his interview? 'BUY MY BOOK I BEG YOU!!!'

3. What a lying POS. His ability to pull bogus numbers out of the air is
amazing. What he does not realize is that a lot of the public is on to him.

4. Yes
the majority of Americans are "mad as hell" at
people just like him. They are pulling in $$millions a year
and keeping the shit stirred up (for their profit). Why don't
ALL of those talking heads demand one simple thing if they are
really concerned about Americans? Publicly finance the
elections. That would make our representatives work for us,
not the corporations.

6. A couple of things
The so called Independents are Republicans too embarrassed to admit being Republican.
The anger is ginned up because Luntz and his ilk are pushing unwarranted fear for cheap political gain. It's the traditional Republican strategy. How many times did Luntz mention fear?
And Frank, take the eyes out of that thing before you put in on your head.

7. Luntz is a Republican shill.
Ever since Gore/Bush in 2000, I've known Luntz was a shill for the Republican party. He took a poll live on the air for one major cable news network and asked a straight up question in which Democrats got the most hands, and then, Republicans got a few in his sample crowd, then he had the balls to turn around and say, "Ok, so pretty much even".

That's all it took for me. He's got no credibility in my eyes.

8. He is not a pollster.
He is a propagandist who uses polling to determine what propaganda is most effective.

10. He lies!
The outrage is entirely a construct of the GOP spin machine. The dupes have been duped into representing insurance industry interests. Funny that he wasn't outraged while the Bush Administration destroyed the country.

TOTAL FRAUD! Yes.

11. Every Thing Luntz Says Lacks Context
Take his 72% angry statement. It makes an interesting headline, which is all Luntz is after, but it tells you nothing. How, for instance, does that compare with other periods. And what are they mad about. In this case, how much of that has been irrationally generated -- birthers and tenthers.

Frankly, Luntz is looking for an outcome for his talking point with the manner the question is asked. I would have said yes to his question for a number of reasons and none of them would have been over details of the Town Hall health care reform meetings. One of them would have been over the lies Luntz perpetuates while claiming that he is only the messenger -- as he is doing here.

12. I call Bullshit. Almost all the attendees were right wing loonies and not "independents".
every interview I saw, the local nutjobs were spouting the myths from right wing hate radio. I barely heard one genuine complaint last month and im sure there must have been some.

The latest polls show support of over 60% for the public option, Frank putz is still talking out of his ass again, what a horrible cretin.

13. Even if...
Even if the number he gave is correct the question doesn't mean anything. You ask question like 'are you mad as hell?' and all it does is let you the pollster or person reporting the results set up you own narrative. If it was ever to make any sense you would have to have a secondary question asking "what specifically are you mad as hell about?". It's like the polls for how the President is doing the job you may get high negatives but some of them are negative because they think he is 'doing too much', some think he 'isn't doing enough', some like some of his programs but really dislike others. The 72% may give you a general feeling but hell maybe the vast majority of the 72% are mad because they elected Obama and they are tired of the Republicans saying no to everything he tries to do.

15. I've seen Luntz quite a few times close up ever since the 2000 election
Edited on Tue Sep-29-09 07:56 AM by DFW
He probably doesn't know me, as I have stayed under his radar when discussion time came. I think the only two truthful things I ever heard him say were, "Al Gore probably did win Florida in 2000," and "the political climate in this country stinks." He probably had nothing to do directly with the first, and definitely DID have plenty to do with the second. Just ask Tom Daschle about who was providing Thune's (barely) successful hate propaganda campaign to knock him out of the Senate.

Luntz calls himself a pollster, but he is in fact a paid--very highly paid--political hack. His Uriah Heep routine doesn't fool a lot of people any more, but make no mistake about him: he is highly intelligent and an expert manipulator. He is interested in results, not truth, and if his Republican masters want certain results of polls, Luntz will provide a way for his "polls" to reflect those results. He would have been perfectly at home in East Germany telling the people there that 99.85 of the voters in every election did indeed support the governing elite's version of "building socialism." The Republicans have been his highest bidder for a long while now, and he has made a mint off of them. He is not about to bite the hand that feeds him, and it feeds him rather well.

He cares not in the least that his BS is obvious to us or his paymasters. What matters is that he connects with the ignorant and the fearful, and he is an absolute master at it. What is transparently BS to us at first glance comes across to his audience as the word of god inscribed on the wall in gold, and as long as he knows how to get people to keep believing it, the Republicans will pay him to keep doing what he does. Of course he's partially responsible for getting the ignorant whipped up into a frenzy. All he's doing with his "polls" is surveying the successful results of his handywork with a satisfied smirk. He is neither conservative nor liberal. He is a mercenary, and one of the most effective ones out there. The point is not that we see though him. The point is that millions do not.

16. he reminds me of infomercial book salesmen,
I kept expecting him to say " and if you call to day you'll get the book and my a subscription to my newsletter for half price" He refuses to take responsibility for his obvious role through push polling and advising crowds with RW propaganda in fueling the misinformation and anger. He claims to be an objective observer and reporter, but his history and affiliations suggest otherwise. It's true we are all fed up with politics, but that doesn't equate to all of us being teabaggers. He mixes facts from his polling with spin and invents a world that appears empty of the 51% who currently approve of the job Obama's doing. Sure i'm mad at congress, but not for the reasons he states. The majority of this country want and need major health care reform, not incremental reform. That just his spin. I bet his raw data is deliberately skewed somehow to favor teabaggers. Likely he did land line phone calling to red states equally to blue, without adjusting for population, and did not adjust for those who rely soley on cell phones. He makes my skin crawl.

btw- the background photo of the dude yelling made it look like Luntz was going to be eaten alive! That's something I would support.

22. That book is a fraud to me. It appears that he got paid to write a book to get on
tv to pimp for the lobbyists. He works for the leaders of the 27% voting base who have been brainwashed about reiligion and politics, fear and hate, making them lovers of war and weapons, and tolerant or intolerant on hetero or homo adultry depending on who committed it. Their banner is abortion and guns.

He is a Class A fraud who pretends to be a pollster.

Seven Republican-Corporate-Military owned tv networks and he is part of them.

So lets see in a country of 315 million after the 47 million uninsured ,percentage wise that means that everybody who is insured is satisfied. Luntz is a lying pulling numbers out of his ass sack of shit propagandist. That's what his made up numbers really say. CNN is weak for let him dribble on.
