The poll asked this question: "Would you favor or oppose the government offering everyone a government administered health insurance plan -- something like the Medicare coverage that people 65 and older get -- that would compete with private health insurance plans?"
The top-line result is 65% in favor, 26% opposed. Among Democrats only, it's 81%-12%, and independents are at 61%-30%. And among Republican respondents, 47% are in favor, to 42% opposed.
maybe he skipped this on purpose
A New York Times/CBS poll found that 65% of respondents want a public health care option, while only 26% opposed such a plan.

health care for all, while those over 65 – who are already eligible for
Medicare – do not.
In addition, less than half of all Americans think the government should
guarantee health insurance for all Americans if it would mean either
their health insurance costs would go up, their taxes would go up, or
that the budget deficit would increase.
However, respondents said that President Obama had not been clear on health care reform. Fifty-five percent said he had not explained his plan clearly, and many felt under-informed about the policies under discussion
