Marcy Kaptur talks how real estate professionals say that JP Morgan Chase is the 'Number One' problem to work with in their district in trying to work with banks to prevent foreclosures in her hometown of Toledo, Ohio. She sees first hand how they treat her, her office and professionals she asked to participate with her program.

That they were treated less than poorly would be an understatement. Sounds like nothing at all has changed on Wall Street and here is just one more example to add to the many others.

27. People also need to see
which congressional members are NOT bought and paid for by the financial lobby (especially the TBTFs). Maxine Waters and Ron Paul get almost nothing. Grayson, Kaptur , Kucinich, and Sherman have not been bought and paid for.

I bet Dimon's wee sphincter tightened up when she confronted him... I bet he went home and stomped his widdle feets.

2. But, but, but... why would a company treat it's customers so poorly?
BECAUSE IT CAN! Without fear of penalty or retribution.

"What? The peasants want to know why their neighborhood is being foreclosed upon? Bah! Let them eat cake!"

37. The bigger question is why can JP Morgan treat our elected representatives this way
They feel they are above Congress, above the law.

4. J.P. Morgan acts as a dealer for the federal reserve.
Rep. Grayson wants to audit the fed reserve. This Congressman wants to know if fed. via J.P. Morgan acting as a dealer who executes stock market, and futures market trading for the fed. reserve is participating in front running and insider trading. So it is very interesting that J.P. Morgan chase is the no. one problem in stonewalling people who need help with their mortgages. Something stinks.

5. Perhaps the lady does not understand the interest of JPM
They want more foreclosures not less....the game is to own the property. Real estate is as good as money in the bank in a depression.

19. "Real estate is as good as money in the bank in a depression." That's what I keep telling
people but they just don't get it.

But I think Rep Kaptur gets it. She just doesn't like it because she is one of the few who actually represent the interests of their constituents instead of the interests of Wall Street.

34. Yes that is exactly what should have happened and the laws
Are already sitting on the books, left over from the Savings and Loan crisis.

Geithner has told Congress at least twice that it had to, absoltuely had to be done this way. that the only thing we could do last fall was to bail out the banks by handing over our monies to them.

And he is a liar. Aren't there laws that say when you lie to Congress you can be impeached?
Of course, then we would probably just get Summers.

<sigh>

26. These greedy bastard corporations...
...know they have our politicians in the palm of their hands. The only game in America now is
between the politicians and the big companies. Big banks. Big Pharma. Big Insurance. Big oil, etc.

Can you believe that Jamie Dimon tried to put an elected official in her place by name dropping
and letting her know that he's got friends in high political places--namely the Governor's mansion?

These people are sleezebags. They're playing a game and we aren't even allowed on the bleachers. We
are scum. We are peasants. We are objects.

It is just so revolting to see more evidence of this. It is so infuriating when you see that this
really is reality in America today.

28. Seems that all the banks are following the same script.
No one I have come across has had their mortgage reworked in lieu of foreclosure. JP Morgan Chase isn't even responding to buyers for short sales. Yet, they will foreclose, let the house sit empty and begin to decay, then end up selling it for a fraction of what the home owner owed.

operating like organized crime --

and it's so corrupted and they're so confident of their power that they're

willing to flaunt it.

I remember the day after the ExxonValedez disaster way back . . . and one of their

CEO's came in ... Pres/VP . . . I don't recall.

But you knew he represented organized crime -- the power was there and it was clear!!!

And that was one damn hell long time ago -- and all of this is still raging.

We need to re-regulate capitalism --

and nationalize our natural resources --

End capitalism -- it's a ridiculous "King-of-the-Hill" system --

PS: Thanks to Kaptur for telling this story -- it is something of a threat, that's for sure
to be treated this way by a bank!!!

31. Marcy is the best!
She is our District 9 Congressional Rep and has been since 1982! I believe she's the highest ranking female in Congress right now!

Toledo is hurting and is hurting badly. She really works for our district. She has had no serious opposition in years. Even the Republicans vote for her!

I enjoyed it. Even though we know all these things, what can truly be done? Folks that make it to the highest offices are almost always puppets of the wealthy regardless of party. Votes are bought and sold. The moral that want to serve the interest of the majority of United States citizens instead of the most wealthy, are a distinct minority. Like what was mentioned, the S&L scandal was just a precursor to the financial market bailout.
